Short Story

Each August, the Clifton Challenge brings together over 500 Clifton boys for a spirited race down the Durban promenade.

It’s an incredible celebration of brotherhood in our school!

This year, on the 8th of August we’re changing things: We’re running for something more than ourselves.

The annual Clifton Challenge is becoming more than a race. It’s becoming a Run for Hope, a Run for Lives.

We are proud to dedicate this year’s event to supporting LIV Village, a remarkable home that provides love, care, and a future for abandoned and vulnerable children across KwaZulu-Natal.

Every Clifton gent who laces up his running shoes will do so not just for the finish line, but to help rewrite the story of a child in need.

Our goal is to raise R30,000 through once-off donations, or by pledging an amount per kilometer run in the 15km races to meet some of the educational, basic, and sport needs at Liv Village.

Whether you’re a parent, friend, Old Boy, or member of the greater Durban community, we invite you to be part of this journey, to give generously, to share widely, and to help us run for a purpose!

Together, we can build futures, restore hope, and make a difference.

Story

RESTORATION IN A FAMILY ENVIRONMENT

LIV Durban was founded by Tich and Joan Smith with our first children and mums moving
on to the village in 2011. The daily runnings and leadership was handed over in 2016 and is now being led by Jono & Carita McCririe.

We are all about family. We teach each child the value of family life in a loving home and village community, where all their physical needs are taken care of.  We want to equip our children with essential moral values and life skills, so that they can live lives that will influence and inspire others, giving them a sense of belonging and purpose, and turning scars into stars.

TAKING A HOLISTIC APPROACH TOWARDS WHOLENESS

At LIV Durban we place vulnerable children in loving homes where they are loved and cared for, educated at LIV School, and looked after holistically to be released as stars. We do this by focusing on all areas of their lives.

Learn more about how we impact our children’s lives through our different programmes on the village and how we work with almost 200 children on the road to wholeness.
